Specialized government boards, agencies and commissions – typically called tribunals – make rules and decisions that affect the lives of British Columbians.

Dispute Resolution Tribunals
These tribunals resolve disputes between two parties. They are also called adjudicative tribunals.

Rights and Benefits Tribunals
These tribunals make decisions about a person’s rights or benefits

Complaints About Professionals Tribunals
These tribunals hear complaints from members of the public about members of a profession, like doctors, lawyers, and accountants

Regulatory Tribunals
These tribunals make rules, regulations, and policy decisions to protect the public.

Appeal Tribunals
These tribunals hear appeals from decisions that were made by a decision maker or other tribunal
